Itinerary
Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport - Arusha City.
Meet and greet. Transfer to your lodge. During dinner your safari guide will brief you on your itinerary.
Day 2: Arusha.
Full Day Ilikiding Cultural Visit. Hike to nearby waterfalls, walk in a coffee plantation and visit the Maasai bomas. Sample typical African dishes. Overnight in Arusha
Day 3: Arusha - Karatu.
Visit Mto Wa Mbu village and partake in a sumptuous lunch. Proceed to Manyara National Park for a game drive and observe baboons, velvet monkeys, and tree climbing lions, hippos, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, impalas, gazelles, leopards, cheetahs, kudus, elands, bushbucks, and dik-diks in their natural habitat. Overnight in Karatu area.
Day 4: Karatu.
Visit the Hadzabe Bushmen, one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes and participate in a bush trek, hunting, honey gathering, baobab fruit foraging, tribal chanting, dancing. Visit the Datoga tribe and view traditional dances. Overnight in Karatu area.
Day 5: Karatu - Serengeti.
Depart for the Serengeti plains. On route visit Olduvai Gorge and then explore the Serengeti, the most well preserved ecosystem on earth. After game viewing, return to the lodge and overnight in Serengeti area.
Day 6: Serengeti.
Before breakfast, take a game viewing drive. After returning to the lodge for a hot breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for another game drive. View leopards and other big cats in their natural bizarre rock habitat. Overnight in Serengeti area.
Day 7: Serengeti - Ngorongoro.
Before breakfast, take a walking safari. Then partake in a final game viewing drive in the Park. After a picnic lunch, proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater and trek around the edge of the crater rim. Overnight in Ngorongoro area.
Day 8: Ngorongoro.
Hike the Olmoti Crater with an armed ranger. View the different species of antelope, land reedbuck buffalo bushbuck. After lunch, proceed to a Maasai village and view the crater rim from its eastern side. Meet the leader of a four-generation Maasai family boma and his 7 wives, 50 children. Overnight in Ngorongoro area.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater - Kilimanjaro International Airport.
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a day of game viewing. In the grass steppes and acacia forest see almost every animal species of the East African savanna, including the 'Big Five' (rhino, elephant, Cape buffalo, lion, leopard). Drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport for flight home.
